WICC Ontario Chapter, held its 5th annual Learning Breakfast in Toronto on November 14, 2002. This event is always held prior to the Holiday season where we sell gift items in an effort to raise funds for cancer prevention.
With over 400 people in attendance from the insurance industry at this sold-out event, Virginia Brucker, author of Gifts from the Heart was our special guest speaker. Her first speaking engagement to such a large crowd was nothing short of "magical inspiration".

Her book, Gifts from the Heart offers reams of insightful projects, tips, and fun-filled activities that help families through the holiday season. Many people are overcome with anxiety and helplessness when friends and families are struggling with illness or loss. Virginia had many loving practical ideas to help during difficult times. Virginia made the audience laugh and cry. She shared inspiring and practical ways that every one can use. With over 400 in attendance, we sold 600 copies of this great book, with proceeds from the sale going to the Canadian Cancer Society to fund much needed cancer research projects. The following year, Virginia spoke at a luncheon for WICC, BC Chapter. .....Lyna Newman, Executive Director, WICC Toronto, Ontario |

Virginia spoke to an audience of 250 at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver, where she was the guest speaker for the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade's luncheon. Virginia shared the story that inspired her to write Gifts from the Heart. She is a strong, clear speaker with a well-organized and carefully-paced presentation: her talk, accompanied by a Power Point presentation, was both moving and inspirational. Virginia speaks to the heart with wisdom, passion and humor, and deals with tough topics in a thoughtful and heartfelt manner. We laughed, and cried, and went home with a sense of well being, hope and and belief in the goodness of the human spirit.
